DURABLE ACRYLIC EGGSHELL AM204 Armstead Trade Durable Acrylic Eggshell is a professional quality, tough, durable and quick drying mid-sheen finish with good flow and application properties. Suitable for all normal interior wood, plaster and masonry surfaces. Brush, roller, spray & airless spray. As with other water-based paints, do not apply in temperatures below 8ºC (as recommended by British Standard BS 6150) SYSTEM INFORMATION Tough, durable mid-sheen finish Good opacity Ideal for high traﬃc areas Stir thoroughly before use. The normal finishing process is 2 full coats of Armstead Trade Durable Acrylic Eggshell, but on previously painted surfaces in good condition, where similar colours are used, 1 coat may be suﬃcient. When applying water-based paints to surfaces previously decorated with a conventional solvent-based paint, very thorough surface preparation will be necessary. As with other water-based paints, do not use when the temperature is below 10°C. WHITE WATER SPIRIT THINNING Sealing new/bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint. Normal use: (not to be exceeded) Thinning is not required. Conventional spray application: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint. Airless spray application: Thinning is not required. FILM PROPERTIES Chemical Resistance: Not suitable. Heat Resistance: Not suitable for use on heated surfaces e.g. Radiators. Water Resistance: Resistant to the levels of atmospheric humidity present in normal interior environments and will withstand repeated washing. Suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms. Not suitable for use on immersed surfaces or where there is heavy and prolonged condensation. Do not use externally. SPRAY RECOMMENDATIONS Conventional Spray: Satisfactory through most equipment. Airless Spray: A typical recommendation for airless spray application is a minimum working pressure on paint of 140 kg/cm2 (2000 Ib/sq in) with a spray tip size 0.38mm (15 thou) and a spray tip angle 65°. COMPOSITION (NOMINAL) Pigment: Binder: Solvent: Lightfast Pigments. Acrylic Copolymer Emulsion. Water. DRYING TIMES (SINGLE COAT, STANDARD THICKNESS) up to 14M /L 15M2/L 9M2 16-24h 6-16h 4-6h 2-4h VOLUME SOLIDS WHITE WATER SPIRIT *Dependent upon temperature and humidity. 35% (nominal) for White, colours will vary. CLEANING UP SURFACE PREPARATION up to 12M2/L 2h Surfaces must be clean, dry, free from all defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease, wax etc. Thoroughly rub down previously painted surfaces, using ‘wet flatting’ methods where possible, then wipe oﬀ with a damp, lint free cloth. Treat knots with a suitable knotting solution. New or bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate Armstead Trade primer. After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with clean water. TRANSPORTATION & STORAGE Note: Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
