Designer Biography:
Minale-Maeda is a design duo consisting of Kuniko Maeda and Mario Minale. Kuniko Maeda, originally from Japan, graduated in the science of design from Musashino Art University in Tokyo. Mario Minale, born in Italy and raised in Germany, graduated in Industrial Design from the University of Wuppertal. Both designers completed their IM Master degrees at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2005 and subsequently established Minale-Maeda in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Their diverse cultural backgrounds contribute to their unique perspective on material culture. Previous collaborations with Droog include the Red Blue Lego Chair, Touch Wood, and Chroma Key.
