RAWSEAL SQ 25 enables you to ensure quick and practical waterproofing of construction joints and above-ground pipes, even where groundwater impurities and salts inhibit expansion in conventional dry bentonite systems. Bentonite prehydration: how it works Bentonite's expansion, self-sealing, self-healing and waterproofing properties may be seriously compromised by compounds commonly found in groundwater and leachate such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, hydrocarbons, etc. These compounds modify sodium bentonite's structure via the ion exchange process, causing a sharp reduction in or complete elimination of its capacity for expansion and consequently the waterproof membrane's performance. At the plant, bentonite is put through a special prehydration process with special polymers to make it chemically stable. Lay RAWSEAL SQ 2 over a clean and cohesive surface or secure it to notches. Secure RAWSEAL SQ 25 with adhesive or nails. Use enough nails or adhesive to keep the waterstop firmly anchored to the support surface while casting the concrete cover. Join profile ends simply by pressing them together, as their plastic content will enable them to bond. To install around pass-through pipes, wrap the pipe with RAWSEAL at the centre of the wall and seal the two ends by exerting pressure with your hands. Then secure it with wire.
