Consisting of chemical stabilization followed by vacuum extrusion, the special prehydration process enables us to produce high-density bentonite gel, which ensures high performance under any conditions and long-term results. Several bentonite membrane versions are available in combination with a variety of materials based on support surface application and containment. Prehydrated bentonite: how it works and how it is used Bentonite's expansion, self-sealing, self-healing and waterproofing properties may be seriously compromised by compounds commonly found in groundwater and leachate such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, hydrocarbons, etc. These compounds modify sodium bentonite's structure via the ion exchange process, causing a sharp reduction in or complete elimination of its capacity for expansion and consequently the waterproof membrane's performance. At the plant, bentonite is put through a special prehydration process with special polymers to make it chemically stable. Consequently, every single bentonite particle - potentially in sizes of less than 0.5 microns - is uniformly treated and protected while the end product is chemically stabilized to ensure high performance in any condition and application. WATERPROOFING LINE RAWMAT HDB INSTALLATION SURFACE PREPARATION INSTALLATION IN CONCRETE (SLAB SEAL & HDB) Clean the installation surface and remove any residue or debris beforehand. Do not apply to support surfaces with puddled water. Use the bentonite BENTOMASTIC® plaster to level surfaces with apparent cavities and irregularities or rebuild missing sections with FLUECO 80T3 cement mortar.
