Dow Chemical Company Limited STYROFOAM™ and XENERGY™ EXTRUDED FOAMED POLYSTYRENE (STYROFOAM™ brand includes ROOFMATE™, FLOORMATE™ and PERIMATE™) Guidance Notes for Safe Unloading of Bulk Packs Detailed below are GUIDANCE NOTES only for site offloading bulk packs of STYROFOAM™ and XENERGY™ extruded polystyrene (“the task”) It is important that STYROFOAM™ and XENERGY™ products are handled safely and in accordance with relevant site regulations. To assist, we offer the following guidance notes*. Site off-loading guidance * Whilst every care has been taken with these Guidance Notes, The Dow Chemical Company Limited accepts no responsibility for the operations referred to in the Guidance Notes and cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury related to the operations or the task, however caused. Importantly, the Guidance Notes do not relieve the User from responsibility to carry out its own risk assessment specifically relating to the circumstances and requirements of the site where the unloading of bulk pack operations will take place. The User is responsible for ensuring that its employees, agents and contractors have been properly trained in the relevant safe working procedure identified as relevant to the task. ®™ Trademark of The Dow Chemical Company ("DOW") or an affiliated company of Dow Key points: ››› Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by the site/user personnel regulations. ››› Individual packs weigh approximately 20kgs (2500 x 600mm) and 10kgs (1250 x 600mm). When handling 2500 x 600mm packs best practice suggests two people should perform the task. ››› Each bulk pack has the following approximate dimensions, 2400 x 2500 x 2600 (height) mm, and weighs approximately 500kg. ››› All offloading by cranes/fork-lift trucks should be carried out by suitably qualified personnel only.

Offloading from vehicles 1. Crane Offload ››› DO NOT remove wrap from bulk pack until in final position for breaking. ››› Adequate safe working load straps should be positioned. ››› DO NOT use chains or ropes. Use only correct strapping in accordance with crane operation. ››› All personnel must stand clear during lift. 2.
