With these simple tips, you can now create your own artificial lawn yourself. The right preparation is half the work! 1.The right sub-base ✓ is the same as sub-base for brick paving ✓ drainage, porous stable sub-base 2. What you need ✓ DESSO artificial grass ✓ DESSO underlay ✓ sand for the sub-base ✓ fine sand or pins (see below) ✓ Stanley knife ✓ glued strips (available from DESSO) Install in dry weather, between 5 and 25°C And, action! Step 1: Stable and porous sub-base ➜ 5-10 cm crushed gravel / lava sand / stabilizer ➜ vibrate / roll with a vibrating plate / roll until you have an even and stable sub-base (1-1.5 cm fall per metre for drainage) ➜ connect a stabilising underlay with the pavement Step 2: Laying artificial grass rolls ➜ roll out the artificial grass ➜ look out for the nap (direction of the blades of grass) so that the rolls all point in the same direction Step 3: Cutting your artificial grass to size ➜ always cut on the (black) back ➜ cut between the rows of the artificial grass ➜ joining the edges: height of the artificial grass 1/3 above the pavement Step 4: Gluing (only if you use several rolls) ➜ cut both sides as close as possible to the blades of grass so that you ➜ lay both sides against each other ➜ check the nap (direction of the blades of grass) ➜ the distance between the two rolls must be the same over the ➜ open up both sides, the space between the two rolls should be whole line

➜ place the glued tape under the two rolls that have to be glued ➜ remove the foil from the self-adhesive tape ➜ now close the two sides together again ➜ don’t allow any blades of grass to appear between the seams ➜ walk over the glued piece along the whole length Step 5: Stabilising the artificial grass pitch 2 possibilities: Option 1: sprinkling with sand By sprinkling the artificial grass with sand, you add extra stability and the sub-base remains even.
