Introduction to Shell Votive:
The Shell votive, designed by Magnus Löfgren, is now available in copper and brass. Originally inspired by old-fashioned mirrored wall sconces, this tealight holder was first designed in 1993 and has been a staple in Design House Stockholm’s collection.

Design and Production:
The Shell votive is crafted from cast zinc alloy with copper, brass, or nickel plating. It measures 10 cm in diameter and 3 cm in height (approximately 4 inches by 1.25 inches). The production method has been updated from sand moulding to injection moulding to improve quality.

Availability and Pricing:
The Shell votive will be available from May 2015, with a recommended retail price of €69.

Designer Background:
Magnus Löfgren has been a collaborator with Design House Stockholm since its inception. His notable works include the Shell candle holder and the Focus vase, the latter of which won the Excellent Swedish Design award in 1995. Löfgren studied at the School of Design and Craft at Gothenburg University and operates his own design studio in Stockholm.

Now available in copper & brass: Shell votive Designed by Magnus Löfgren Magnus Löfgren was inspired by old-fashioned mirrored wall sconces when designing his tealight holder Shell. Shell was designed in 1993 and has been part of Design House Stockholm’s collection since the beginning. This year we introduce Magnus Löfgrens classic Shell votive candleholder in brass and copper. Magnus Löfgren Magnus has been collaborating with Design House Stockholm since the very beginning. His early successes is the Shell candle holder and the Focus vase, which achieved the Excellent Swedish Design award in 1995.
