Product catalog summary
Overview: A block board is a panel with a solid wood core, typically made from pine, but can also be made with a poplar core upon request. It is overlaid with a cross-grain rotary veneer, chipboard, or MDF, and can be labeled as 'solid wood'. It has similar working parameters to solid wood, including screw retention.
Technical Specifications:
  • Density: 450 - 500 kg/m3 for blockboard, 620 kg/m3 for MDF.
  • Modulus of Elasticity: Longitudinal: 1700 N/mm2 for blockboard, 2300 N/mm2 for MDF. Cross: 6000 N/mm2 for blockboard, 4800 N/mm2 for MDF.
  • Bending Strength: Longitudinal: 20 N/mm2 for blockboard, 15 N/mm2 for MDF. Cross: 45 N/mm2 for blockboard, 37 N/mm2 for MDF.
  • Formaldehyde Emission: E1 for both blockboard and MDF.
  • Thickness Tolerance: ± 0.4 mm for both blockboard and MDF.
  • Length and Width Tolerance: ± 5 mm for both blockboard and MDF.
  • Fire Safety Category: D for both blockboard and MDF.
Size and Customization:
  • Standard size tolerance: Length ± 5 mm, Width ± 5 mm, Thickness ± 0.4 mm.
  • Custom dimensions available upon request.
  • Panels can be cut to size.
Available Sizes:

3. BLOCK BOARD-1

3. BLOCK BOARD A standard block board is a panel with a solid wood core , which may then be glued and overlaid with a cross grain rotary veneer or with chipboard or MDF. We generally use pine for the core, but can on request also deliver block boards with a poplar core. The specic product structure used for block boards means that the nished product may be labelled as 'solid wood'. It takes screws almost as well as solid wood, and other working parameters are as good.
