Nikau The form of this light is based on the bulb and intersecting leave forms of a Nīkau palm tree. Nīkau is the only indigenous palm tree in New Zealand, named apparently because unlike the coconut palm familiar to Polynesians which has coconuts, thus Nikau is a slender clean looking palm tree. The fronds from the palm were traditionally used for thatching and weaving. Bamboo plywood is the main material which can be all natural, caramel or painted on one side thus creating a stock selection of 11 options including black. It also comes as a Half Nikau option.

We have visited these plantations and are satisfied with the quality of their systems.
