Sherpal is an aluminium supporting structure system designed for mechanical services equipment on flat roofs. It is suitable for equipment such as fan motors and air handling units, and is fixed to the concrete roof slab through the roof covering.
The Sherpal system is applicable for buildings up to 30 meters in height and in wind zones up to 3. It supports equipment with a maximum weight of 300 kg and dimensions up to 1,400 mm in each direction.
The design complies with Eurocodes 0 and 1. The system includes modules with dimensions of 1,500 x 4,500 mm for a 6-post module plus an additional 2-post module, 1,500 x 3,000 mm for a 6-post module, and 1,500 x 1,500 mm for a 4-post module. It is available from stock and tested for snow and wind conditions.
Installation must be performed by a qualified contractor. The equipment is supplied ready to fix, and the connection between the equipment and the support should be detailed by the equipment supplier to prevent vibration transmission.
The specification includes dimensions and weight of the equipment to be fixed. The system is formed using posts with shoe plates, sleeve-plates faced with bituminous primer, and an elastomer collar for flashing. Aluminium beams and cross-beams are provided at the tops of the posts.

- Sleeve-plate Units: Pre-coated with bituminous primer.
- Thermo-plastic Collar: Forms a flashing to terminate the roof covering.
- Beams: Supplied in lengths of 1,500 mm or 3,000 mm.
- Cross-beams: Supplied in lengths of 1,500 mm, adjustable via slide-rails.
