VARINA side table — The VARINA table represents the women called “VARINAS” from the lands of Var, now known as Ovar - a city in Portugal. They left by train to Porto and Lisbon with a basket on a wheel on their heads, to sell fish. With cork as the base material, this side table has a wheel that supports the table top and represents the artifact that facilitates the transport of the basket on the head. CELESTE side table Products — Inspired by a peasant, CELESTE table is composed of a wicker basket that rests on a marble cylinder finished off with a half-sphere. Each plant contains a unique signature in nature, so when we offer a plant we are communicating a special feeling to someone. FLORA tables explore this act of give-and-take, so there is a similarity between taking care of the plants and taking care of the objects. The mobility of the product is associated to the commercial expansion of the wine and it is as if each person carried this cultural history when carrying Pipo. This piece is produced in agglomerated dark cork, referring to the tone of the aged casks. This material makes the piece lightweight and slip resistant. GAGO rocking chair — GAGO & SACADURA chairs honour the first aerial crossing of the South Atlantic realized by Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral in 1922. Inspired by the shape of the aviator’s helmet and with curved arms like the wings of a seaplane, the chairs’ upholstery rest on a platform of turned wooden, giving users the impression of taking off on an adventure.
