Product catalog summary
Product Overview: Rapid Set® CR Concrete Resurfacer is a hydraulic cement-based mortar designed for resurfacing worn or damaged concrete surfaces both indoors and outdoors. It features self-curing technology, eliminating the need for wet curing in most cases, and matches the color of typical Portland cement concrete.
Key Features:
  • Self-curing technology (SCT)
  • Concrete gray color
  • Rapid strength gain
  • Foot traffic ready in 2-3 hours
  • 30-minute working time
  • Suitable for interior and exterior use
Environmental Advantages: The product helps reduce carbon footprint as its production emits less CO2 compared to Portland cement. It also contains 30% post-consumer waste recycled fiber.
Application Guidelines:
  • Typical application thickness ranges from 1/32" to 1/8". In smaller areas, it can be applied up to 1/2" thick.
  • Surface preparation requires a clean, sound surface free of contaminants, with a minimum temperature of 50°F (10°C).
  • Priming is not required, but Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer can be used for porous substrates.
  • Mixing should be done with a mechanical mixer using 2.5 to 3 quarts of water per 25-lb bag.
  • Placement should be quick to allow maximum finishing time, with a typical finishing time of 5-10 minutes.
Weather Considerations:
  • Cold Weather: Use warm materials and heated mix water to compensate for delayed setting times.
  • Warm Weather: Use cool materials and chilled mix water to offset accelerated setting times.
Safety and Handling: Users should avoid inhaling dust and contact with skin and eyes. Use protective gear such as respirators, goggles, and gloves. Follow safety guidelines to prevent irritation or injury.
Warranty: CTS Cement Manufacturing Corp. offers a limited warranty for materials proven defective within one year of purchase, with replacement or refund as remedies.
Physical Data: Compressive strength is 2000 psi at 1 day and 4000 psi at 28 days, with data obtained at 70°F using 3 quarts of water.
