concrete box culverts design chemical class dc-4 resistance CPM box culverts are specified and used regularly for culverting highways, storm and foul sewers, sea outfalls, tunnels and subways, underpasses, stream crossings, vertical chambers and in modified form as channels with removable slabs or as portals. In addition they may be used as tanks for attenuation of storm or foul water. Box culverts provide high flow capacities even where the gradient is low or headroom is restricted.
