Presence and Absence Detection Explained Sensors can be set for presence or absence detection (subject to model), depending on room usage and/or specific regulations. Presence mode: Sensors automatically switch lights on when a room is occupied, and off when the room is empty. Absence mode: Requires a user to manually switch lights on. Sensors switch lights off when the room is empty.

Lux Level Sensing Explained Sensors with lux level functionality can save even more energy. They react to daylight, ensuring that lights stay off if there is sufficient natural light.
