Rivi finished terrazzo tabletops are pre-finished and sealed. They are made from through-body concrete terrazzo with eased and finished edges. The underside remains unfinished. Variations in tone, aggregate size, and distribution are inherent features. Tabletops are not reinforced and must be braced to prevent bowing.
Receiving and Storage
Tabletops are delivered in custom a-frames, wrapped for protection. Inspect upon delivery and report any damage immediately. Store indoors or covered to prevent damage. Allow tabletops to acclimate to the environment for 48 hours before installation.
Installation Guidelines
Table bases should include 3/4” plywood and/or 1/4” steel plate substrate, extending within 4”-6” of the table edge. Cantilevers greater than 4” must be fully supported. Tabletops are not pre-drilled but can be drilled and anchored. Ensure the substrate is clean and spans no more than 24” between supports. Use adhesive bedding, epoxy, or silicone for bonding.
Care and Maintenance
Wipe spills immediately with water and non-acidic cleaner. Apply butcher block conditioner before first use and routinely. For rejuvenation, reapply sealer if water no longer beads up. Use a microfiber towel for application and allow a 7-day cure time. Reapply butcher block conditioner as needed.
Future Rejuvenation
If water no longer beads, apply additional sealer using a microfiber towel. Use Prosoco Polishguard or a preferred sealer, following manufacturer instructions. Wet-scrub with an orbital sander and HTC Twister pad white, then apply 2-3 thin coats of sealer. Allow appropriate cure time before use.
