Properties and Advantages: The compound offers excellent adhesion to metals and plastic substrates like PVC, provides a non-porous and thin finish, is quick-drying, easy to sand, and does not clog sanding paper. It can withstand extreme temperatures from -30°C to 110°C and can be covered by all types of finishing.
Substrates: Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and plastic substrates such as PVC and gelcoat.
Application Equipment: Recommended tools include a putty knife, coating knife, or trowel.
Finish and Color: The finish is matte, and the color is cream.
Technical Characteristics: The product is packaged in 290g containers. It has a density of 0.77 ± 0.05 at 20°C, viscosity of 1.5 ± 0.2 Poises at 25°C, and a flash point between 23 to 55°C. It should be stored for up to 12 months in its original packaging, protected from heat and freezing.
Application Characteristics: Apply 1 to 2 coats. Drying times at 20°C and 50% humidity are 5 minutes for handling, 20 to 30 minutes for sanding, and 1 hour for covering.
Dilution and Cleaning: The product is ready to use. Clean equipment with synthetic thinner, Renov’Brosse, or acetone immediately after application.
Preparation: Mix the sealant with 2% to 3% hardener until even. The mixture should be used within 4 minutes at 20°C.
Application Advice: Follow DTU 59.1 guidelines. Work on solid, clean, and dry surfaces with less than 4% humidity by weight. Apply an under-coat before using Mastic Metal. Avoid excessive hardener to prevent accelerated hardening, adhesion issues, and yellowing.
Recommendations: The data sheet's recommendations are for experienced users and are based on standard tests. They are illustrative and not a substitute for project-specific requirements. COMUS is not liable for damages from user-applied works.
Substrate Preparation: For ferrous metals, clean rust, sand, degrease, and apply under-coats before Mastic Metal. For non-ferrous metals and PVC, degrease, sand, and dust before application.
