The Project: Howling Wolf Studio Job have drawn from the vast archive of furniture produced by Colombostile over the years, selecting frames from the many diverse styles of old guéridons and armchairs; they had the beechwood treated to make it darker in hue, then covered the chairs with thick silk bearing their distinctive designs and carried out small, discreet interventions that left a peculiar mark on the old pieces. The Rooms The circular hall designed by Studio Job provides direct access to the rooms in which Colombostile stages the pieces it has chosen to exhibit at the 2016 Furniture Fair. The three main souls of Colombostile's output – contemporary, eclectic and classical – are each represented in a dedicated room. They are extremely elegant environments, but also boast a strong personality: three rooms conceived as gardens in which magnificent tables, desks, sofas, armchairs and lamps rise from the floral-themed surroundings. The second of the three main rooms, in grey and gold tones, is entirely furnished with creations by Jean-Antoine Hierro Desvilles. In this set the eclectic visions which are the true style of the French designer and which are an important and much appreciated part of the Colombostile output enjoy free rein.. The last of the three main rooms is the Garden of the Roses, whose pure white walls welcome a well-orchestrated combination of marvellous classical furniture. These are dominated by the imposing bureau-cabinet with its authoritative yet seductive personality. Its curved structure, made of wood, close to two metres high, is decorated with relief lacquer work decorated with silver leaf applied with the meccatura technique.
