CLEOPATRA world of wellness A traditional Finnish sauna is originally meant to heat the body at a temperature between 80 - 110 0C, thus making the sauna-goer sweat. The designation sauna in Finnish means 'bathhouse' one thus actually takes a sauna bath. Sweating cleanses the body and mind, making it perceived as relaxing. Besides warming up the body, it is at least as important to bring the body temperature back to normal. Hence, taking a cold shower or cooling off in ice water is important. Sweating cools the skin; the 'sweat' fluid is withdrawn from the blood, lowering blood pressure....
