FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CHILEWICH CONTRACT LAUNCHES TWO NEW WEAVES AT NEOCON 2016 A sustainable solution of bold and neutral patterns NEW YORK, NY – Chilewich Contract is launching two new weaves at the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in June 2016. Plaid and Speckle couldn’t be more different from each other and from the current portfolio of Chilewich’s contract textiles. Each weave offers a new range of “Bold and Quiet” options for floors and walls. Both textiles are highly durable and easy to maintain making them ideal for any environment. Plaid is bold and busy. It’s available in Wall-to-Wall flooring and Wall Textiles in six foot roll widths. The pattern repeat is 36” and a unique feature of this pattern is that aligning the seams is not necessary. Like other Chilewich Contract offerings, seeing seams is part of its natural beauty. Plaid is also available in 18” square tiles and 6”x36” planks. No two tiles are the same even when laid in the same direction. The Plaid collection uses a rotation of 14 different colors in solid and bi-color yarns (bi-color yarns are made with 2 colors, top and bottom), so combining it with different materials and finishes such as wood, metal and ceramic is very seamless and simple. The weave boasts versatility as it works in any space from a convention hall, to a conference room to providing a homey accent in a hospital waiting area and so much in between. Plaid is available in three colorways: Tan, Multi and Grey Speckle is quiet, even quieter than many of the other weaves in the Chilewich Contract collection. At first glance, it almost appears as if it’s a solid color, when in fact it features a beautiful yet minimal pattern. Speckle comes in four color ways and in each the warp yarn subtly contrasts with the soft pearlescent silver speckles in the weft direction. The overall design appears discreet in a large expanse but intricate at a closer glance. Like Plaid, Speckle is available in six foot widths in Wall-to-Wall flooring and Wall Textiles, as well as, 18” square tiles and 6”x36” planks. Chilewich has experimented laying Speckle tiles quarter turned and found that the natural color shift between warp and weft adds a richness and level of interest to this quiet weave. Speckle is ideal for spaces in which the floor is a foundation for bolder interior design elements. In addition to TerraStrand®, Chilewich also developed a new PVC free tile backing system called BioFelt®. Its main component is made from post-consumer recycled water bottles. This tile system can also be installed with Velcro tabs instead of glue and also contributes LEED points. All of the textiles contain Microban, providing protection against the growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew.
