It is designed for pneumatic installation in open attic or ceiling plenum areas with flat flooring or up to a maximum slope of 4.5:12. Benefits: This product is noncombustible, noncorrosive and odor free. In addition, Northern White won’t settle, contains no chemicals to cause mildew and fungus growth, provides no sustenance for vermin, contains no asbestos, won’t rot or decay and won’t absorb moisture. Northern White is made from a combined minimum of 65% pre- and post-consumer recycled content. Composition and Materials: Northern White is an unbonded, white, virgin fibre, loose fill fiber glass insulation. The glass fibres are manufactured from postindustrial and post-consumer recycled glass. Additives are applied to provide product extended shelf life and to reduce static electricity and fibre dusting during application. This insulation contains no asbestos, perlite, vermiculite or phenol-formaldehyde binder. Limitations: Northern White is designed for use at ambient temperatures in interior, weather–protected locations. Pneumatic equipment must have an effective shredding section, a uniform controlled feed system and adequate material/air capabilities. This product is to be kept dry during shipping, storage and installation. INSTALLATION Installation procedures and techniques must be followed as recommended by CertainTeed Corporation, using blowing machines approved for fibre glass insulation. Refer to InsulSafe SP Installation Manual (30-24-302). To obtain the thermal resistance shown on the chart, this material must be installed at both the thickness and mass per unit area equal to or greater than the minimum value specified. ® Maintain building, electrical, gas and oil safety code required clearances between the insulation and heat-emitting devices, such as fuel-burning appliances, chimneys, pipes, ducts and vents to these appliances (at least 50 mm), and between the insulation and recessed light fixtures (at least 75 mm).
