Carriage House® Shingles

Product catalog summary
Product Information: Carriage House® shingles are designed with a patented two full-size base shingle construction, providing four layers of protection. They are easy to install and made from durable fiberglass, resisting winds up to 110 mph with normal installation and 130 mph with special installation. The shingles feature deep 8" tabs, shadow lines, and chamfered corners for a scallop-edged finish, ideal for slopes of 9" per foot or greater. They are algae-resistant, preventing staining and discoloration.

In icing-prone areas, CertainTeed WinterGuard® Waterproofing Shingle Underlayment is recommended. For slopes over 21" per foot, roofing cement application is necessary.

Carriage House® Shingles-1

Technical Data Sheet Carriage House® Shingles PRODUCT INFORMATION Carriage House® is built on CertainTeed's patented design using two fullsize base shingles, resulting in four full layers of shingle protection when applied. Moreover, this one-piece construction offers the applicator greater ease of installation. Most importantly, its tough fiber glass composition makes Carriage House a durable, long-lasting shingle. It is designed to resist blow off in high wind conditions up to 110-mph with normal installation and up to 130-mph with special installation. Deep 8" tabs, distinctive shadow lines, and chamfered corners give Carriage House the appearance of a scallop-edged finish, creating a look reminiscent of the handcrafted slate roofs of yesteryear. These shingles are most aesthetically appealing when used on slopes of 9" per foot or greater. Carriage House shingles are algae-resistant (AR) and help protect against staining or discoloration caused by algae. Colors: Please refer to the product brochure or CertainTeed website for the colors available in your region. Limitations: Use on roofs with slopes 2" per foot or greater. However, slopes greater than 9" per foot best show the product design. Low slope applications (2:12 to < 4:12) require additional underlayment. In areas where icing along the eaves can cause the back-up of water, apply CertainTeed WinterGuard Waterproofing Shingle Underlayment, or its equivalent, according to application instructions provided with the product and on the shingle package. On slopes greater than 21" per foot, apply four spots of roofing cement under the shingle, according to application instructions provided on the shingle package. Product Composition: Carriage House shingles are composed of a fiber glass mat base. Ceramiccoated mineral granules are tightly embedded in carefully refined, water-resistant asphalt. The laminated tabs are firmly adhered in special, tough asphaltic cement. These fiber glass based shingles have selfsealing adhesive. Applicable Standards: ASTM D3018 Type I ASTM D3462 ASTM E108 Class A Fire Resistance ASTM D3161 Class F Wind Resistance ASTM D7158 Class H Wind Resistance TECHNICAL DATA Weight/Square (approx.): 355 lb.
