Product Range and Formats

The Midlake collection offers stone effect tiles in four colors: Quartzgrey, Quartzbeige, Ardesia, and Porfido. Standard tile size is 60×90 cm (24”×36”) with a thickness of 20 mm. Additional trims and special pieces are available, including bullnose edge steps, internal and external bullnose corners, L-shaped terminals, and grilles in various sizes, primarily 45×90 cm and 15×60 cm formats, all 20 mm thick. Some trims are also available in 9 mm thickness.

Color and Finish Variants

Each color variant is identified with specific codes and is available in different finishes, including natural, silky, lappato, brushed, grip, and structured surfaces. The collection includes V3 and V4 variation levels indicating the degree of color and texture variation.

Technical Characteristics and Compliance

The tiles comply with EN 14411 and ISO 13006 standards for dry pressed tiles (Group B1-a) with water absorption ≤ 0.5%. Key technical parameters include:

• Dimensions and Tolerances: Length and width tolerances range from ±0.4 mm to ±2.0 mm depending on rectified (RT) or non-rectified (NO RT) finishes and tile size.
• Flatness, Rectangularity, and Edge Straightness: Specified tolerances vary between RT and NO RT tiles, ensuring precise installation.
• Thickness: Nominal thickness is controlled within ±0.5 mm and ±5%.
• Water Absorption: ≤ 0.5%, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
• Mechanical Strength: Bending strength ≥ 35 N/mm²; breaking strength varies by thickness (≥700 N for <7.5 mm, ≥1300 N for ≥7.5 mm, and up to ≥10000 N for 20 mm thickness).
• Abrasion Resistance: Deep abrasion ≤ 175 mm³; surface abrasion classified by manufacturer.
• Thermal and Frost Resistance: Compliant with EN ISO 51045-1, suitable for environments subject to thermal shock and frost.
• Chemical Resistance: Resistant to household chemicals and swimming pool additives (minimum class B), with manufacturer-specified resistance to acids and alkalis at various concentrations.
• Stain Resistance: Minimum class 3 for lappato finish; manufacturer classified for other finishes.

Slip Resistance

The collection offers multiple slip resistance ratings depending on finish and environment:

• DIN EN 16165 Annex A (ex DIN 51097): Classes A+B+C depending on environment.
• DIN EN 16165 Annex B (ex DIN 51130): R9 to R11 ratings depending on finish.
• DIN EN 16165 Annex C (Pendulum test): PTV ≥ 36 for dry and wet conditions indicating low slip risk.
• Dynamic friction coefficients exceed required thresholds (>0.40 dry and wet) per B.C.R.A D.M.I. and ANSI A326.3 standards, with wet D.C.O.F. ≥ 0.55.

Special Pieces and Trims

Special trims in 20 mm and 9 mm thicknesses are available on request, including bullnose edge steps, internal and external corners, L-shaped terminals, and skirting boards (bullnose plinths). These trims facilitate finishing and installation in complex architectural details.
