BIONICTILE® by CERACASA is a porcelain tile designed to reduce harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) and nitric acid (HNO3) in polluted air, contributing to the reduction of tropospheric ozone, which is detrimental to human health and the environment.

Functionality
BIONICTILE® transforms NOx particles into harmless nitrates. The depollution process is continuous, with no surface corrosion or toxic products. One square meter can depollute 270.91 micrograms of NOx per hour. An urban area with 200 buildings clad in BIONICTILE® could clean the air for over 4 million people annually.

Testing and Certification

Urban environment tests in Barcelona showed significant nitrate presence from the decontamination reaction.
1:1 scale tests in the Euphore chamber confirmed and enhanced the depollution effect, including HNO3 reduction.
Certified by the Institute of Chemical Technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia as per ISO 22197-12007.
