Product catalog summary
Introduction to Bandoleo Collection
The Bandoleo collection is inspired by the Bandoneon, a unique accordion-like instrument designed by Heinrich Band in 1854. Known for its warm, woolly sound, the Bandoneon is integral to the melancholic music of the Tango. The Bandoleo rug mirrors the Bandoneon's uniqueness, crafted with a high degree of handicraft.

Historical Context
The Bandoneon was likely introduced to Argentina by Italian seasonal workers, becoming a staple in Argentinian folk music and the Tango. Astor Piazzolla, a renowned bandoneon player, popularized the instrument globally.

Evolution of Bandoleo
The Bandoleo collection evolved from a search for new color ranges for Quivive, resulting in a soft, earth-like appearance. The collection combines 100% cotton, 100% viscose, and a 50/50% mix, offering unique textures and forms beyond traditional square or rectangular rugs.

Design Features
  • Larger surfaces made of 100% cotton, 100% viscose, and a 50/50% mix.
  • Earth-like uni colors.
  • Special, non-traditional forms.
  • Carte Blanche for material choice and positioning within one color.

Pricing and Configuration
The retail price for the Bandoleo design is €650, which includes special design features, extra tufting time, and high-quality materials. A Carte Blanche configuration is available within existing colors.

Bandoleo presentatie2a-1

Bandoleo Collection name Bandoleo is a corruption of and a referral to the ‘Bandoneon’, an accordion-like music instrument, designed by Heinrich Band from Konzertina Germany in 1854. The Bandoneon has an extremely long windbag, being ‘broken’ on the knee by its player to achieve very fierce accents. The sound of the bandoneon is warm and woolly which makes the instument very appropriate for melancholic music like the Tango. A large similarity between Carpet Sign and the Bandoneon lies in the fact that every single instrument is unique due to the large amount of handicraft by which the bandoneons are made. The Bandoleo rug meets the form of the bandoneon . It is said that the instrument has been introduced in Argentina by the Irishman Thomas Moore in 1880 but more likely it came along with the large amount of seasonal workers from Italy , where the Bandoneon was also very popular. In Argentina the bandoneon became one of the most popular folk instruments and at the same time became the characteristic instrument of the Argentinian Tango. The most well-known bandoneon player and componist worldwide is Astor Piazzolla. This nuevo tango-bandoneonist composed -together with numerous orchestra- lots of well known tangos like ‘Adiós Nonino’, which was performed by the most well-known Dutch bandoneon player Carel Kraayenhof at the wedding of Princess Máxima and King Willem

resent in ly could range is like being We were looking for a new colour range for Quivive to p the boxes and discovered that new, appealing colours on be achieved by using uni colours. By choosing the uni colours, a soft and smooth colour achieved, emphasizing the structure. It gave the collection a nice, earth-like appearance, sand and rocks. Constantly changing its structure when walked over. Looking at the existing Quivive in the market [one collection with viscose and one collection without viscose] we fused both collections by creating surfaces in 100% cotton, 100% viscose and a 50/50% mix....
