HERTALAN® offers a range of EPDM-based products designed for waterproofing solutions, particularly for flat roofs. These products are known for their adaptability, durability, and environmental benefits as alternatives to traditional lead materials.
HERTALAN® products include EASY COVER and EASY WELD systems, which are EPDM sheet systems available in various thicknesses (1.3 and 1.5 mm) and certified according to DIN and CE standards. These systems are designed to be root-resistant and have a service life of over 50 years.
- Loose Laying with Ballast: Utilizes gravel ballast to secure the EPDM layers, adhering to DIN EN 1991-1-4 standards.
- Bonded Application: All layers are bonded using adhesives, requiring a solid substrate.
- Mechanical Fixation: Involves securing EPDM with screws and plates, calculated per DIN EN 1991-1-4.
- Partially and Fully Bonded Systems: These involve bonding EPDM sheets to substrates using specific adhesives and welding techniques.
The RhinoBond® system is an induction fixing technology that allows for the mechanical fixation of EPDM membranes without penetrating the waterproofing layer. It distributes wind loads evenly and reduces the number of fixings required, enhancing installation efficiency.
HERTALAN® products undergo rigorous testing for properties such as tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, and fire behavior. They meet or exceed standards for watertightness, UV resistance, and chemical exposure.

- Application: Applied on both sides, suitable for dry, clean substrates like wood, concrete, and metals. Seam overlap should be at least 100 mm.
- Coverage Rate: Approximately 500 g/m² when applied on both sides.
- Technical Data: Black color, viscosity of 3,500 ± 500 mPas, density of 860 ± 10 kg/m³, and a shelf life of 12 months.
- Properties: Solvent-based, sprayable contact adhesive with a synthetic rubber and resin base. Suitable for horizontal and vertical substrates.
- Application: Applied using a closed airless spraying system. Open setting time of 5-15 minutes.
- Coverage Rate: Approximately 300 g/m² when applied on both sides.
- Technical Data: Yellowish color, flash point < 0°C, and a shelf life of 12 months.

This bonding is considered the safest seam joint in the flat roof segment.
