Product catalog summary
Product Description: ThermoSan is a high-tech façade paint featuring a silicone-resin binder with a Nano-Quartz Matrix Structure. This innovative composition provides long-lasting clean façades by forming a mineral-hard, three-dimensional quartz matrix that resists soiling. It is also protected against algal and fungal attacks.
Field of Application: ThermoSan is suitable for mineral and synthetic resin-bound renders/plasters, both coated and uncoated. It is applicable to various ETICS/EWI system surfaces and is effective against algal and fungal growth. The paint is alkali-resistant, highly CO2 permeable, and non-film-forming.
Material Properties: The paint combines silicone resin emulsion with a hybrid binder on an organic/inorganic basis. It is available in 12.5 litres and can be tinted with AmphiSilan colourants. The paint is matt (flat) with a gloss level of G3 and has a high water vapour permeability.
Technical Data: The maximum particle size is less than 100 µm, with a density of approximately 1.5 g/cm³. The dry film thickness ranges from 100 to 200 µm. It has low water permeability and high water vapour permeability.
Application: Suitable substrates must be stable, dry, and clean. Various substrate preparation methods are detailed, including cleaning and priming instructions for different types of renders, plasters, and masonry. The paint can be applied with a brush, roller, or airless spray.
Surface Coating System: The priming or intermediate coat should be diluted with water, and the finishing coat should be diluted up to 5%. The drying time between coats is a minimum of 12 hours.
Consumption: Approximately 150-200 ml/m² per coat on even substrates, with more required for rough surfaces.
Application Conditions: The minimum temperature for application and drying is +5°C. The paint is surface-dry after 2-3 hours and fully cured after approximately 3 days.
Safety and Disposal: The product is harmful to aquatic organisms and should be kept out of reach of children. It should not be emptied into drains or watercourses. Disposal must comply with local regulations, and only completely emptied containers should be recycled.
Technical Assistance: For further details or technical assistance, contact the customer service center via phone or email.

ThermoSan-1

ThermoSan Innovative silicone-resin binder combination with integrated Nano-Quartz Matrix Structure providing clean façades. Protected against algal and fungal attack. Consequent further development of the Caparol Clean Concept. Product Description Field of Application High-tech façade paint with the essential benefit: Organically cross-linked nano-quartz particles form a compact, mineral-hard, three-dimensional quartz matrix structure against soiling and keep façades clean for a longer period. The special silicone resin/binder combination generates water-repellent, highly water vapour permeable façade paint coatings on mineral and synthetic resin-bound (organic) renders/plasters, coated or uncoated. ThermoSan is suitable for all types of current, sound ETICS/EWI system surface coatings, e.g. synthetic resin (organic), silicone resin, silicate-based and lime-cement renders/plasters. Material Properties Material Base / Vehicle Packaging/Package Size Provided with a film preservative, effective against algal and fungal (mildew/mould) attack. Alkali-resistant, hence unsaponifiable. Highly CO2 permeable. Non-film-forming, micro-porous. ThermoSan is able to wash fine cracks in render/plaster surfaces. Contains special pigments, showing a photocatalytic effect. Combined silicone resin emulsion and new type of hybrid binder, on an organic/inorganic basis. ■ Standard Product: 12.5 litres ■ ColorExpress: 7.5 litres and 12.5 litres White ThermoSan can be tinted with AmphiSilan colourants. If more than one bucket is manually tinted, all product must be thoroughly mixed before use in order to avoid colour differences. Quantities of 100 litres or more in individual colour shades may be ordered ready-tinted ex factory. ThermoSan can be tinted via the ColorExpress tinting & mixing machine system in limited colour shades of current colour collections. Check tinted product prior to the application to avoid colour differences. Always use tinted paint of the same batch, when applying on seamless surfaces. Brilliant, intensive colour shades may have a lower opacity (hiding/covering power). It is therefore advisable to apply a first coat in a similar hiding pastel tint, based on white. A second finishing coat might be necessary. Colour Resistance according to BFS Data Sheet No. 26: Class: A Group: 1 Gloss Level Storage Matt (flat) G3 Keep in a cool, but frost-free place.
