Overview of the CANDIWALL® System
The CANDIWALL® system is a patented, high-performance External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) featuring a ceramic Klinker facing tile finish. It offers significant energy savings, high durability, and a maintenance-free facade appearance similar to traditional face brick (TFV).

System Components
- Aluminum starter profile (optional)
- High-performance adhesive for bonding
- Modified XPS insulation boards with tongue-and-groove joints (thickness 30 to 120 mm)
- Mechanical fixing plugs with steel dowels (10 fixings per m²)
- Ceramic Klinker facing tiles, including corner and lintel pieces
- Special grout mortar for joint filling
Application Procedure
- Level and fix the optional aluminum starter profile.
- Apply adhesive to the back of XPS boards (spot or full bonding).
- Fix XPS boards mechanically using plugs and dowels, ensuring tongue-and-groove joints are respected.
- Create recesses in XPS to prevent fixing plugs from protruding and disturbing tile adhesion.
- Apply CANDIWALL® adhesive over the XPS surface.
- Install Klinker tiles starting with corner pieces, frequently checking vertical joint alignment.
- Prepare and apply grout mortar, fully filling joints.
- Clean excess grout with clean water and a well-wrung sponge trowel, always wiping horizontally and changing water frequently until the surface is clean.

The system has been successfully applied in various projects across Portugal, Spain, and the UK, including new constructions, rehabilitations, and expansions. Examples include residential buildings, schools, stadiums, and urban developments.
