Description
The Calpak VTS is a vacuum tube solar collector featuring twin wall glass tubes with an air vacuum of 5.10-3 Pa. Made from borosilicate glass, the outer tube is 47mm in diameter and 1.8mm thick, while the inner tube is 33mm in diameter and 1.5mm thick. Each tube contains a U-shaped copper tube with copper fins for enhanced heat transmission. The assembly is mounted on a parabolic aluminum frame to direct solar radiation to the tubes. Antifreeze Protection
Calpak offers a propylene glycol-based thermal fluid for antifreeze and anti-corrosion protection, mixed with water at a minimum 20% volume ratio. The ratio varies with ambient temperature, ensuring efficiency in cold climates.

Technical Characteristics
The VTS models vary by the number of tubes (10, 12, 14, 16), with corresponding surface areas and weights. All models have a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar and a standby temperature of 278°C. The hydraulic connections are Φ18, with Φ22 available on special order.

Performance and Efficiency
The instantaneous performance curve is based on absorber surface, with a thermal output efficiency of 62% and a total loss coefficient of 2.11 W/m2k. Efficiency is affected by orientation and inclination, with performance reductions detailed for various angles and directions.

Available accessories include roof supports, connection fittings, protective covers, thermal fluid canisters, automatic ventilators, and solar stations for system control.

ANTIFREEZE PROTECTION OF COLLECTORS In order to ensure the anti-freeze and anti-corrosion protection of the collector, we offer the Calpak thermal fluid , which is a propylene glycol based product (provided as an accessory). This thermal fluid is mixed with water, at a minimum volume ratio of 20%.
