Leading Czech producer of designer hand-blown glass lighting at M&O Paris from 4 to 8 During Maison&Objet the company is showing the new collection entitled Lightline by renowned Czech designer and Brokis Art Director Lucie Koldova as well as several other new items, such as the stylish variable lights Flutes, a new wall and floor versions for last year's Mona collection, and new material and color options for the existing exclusive lighting series. LIGHTLINE - celebration of glass The Lightline series of glass lighting celebrates the beautiful utilitarian value of glass in every component. The concept of a luminous line is illustrated in the design through the etched plane of the blown-glass body set in the base made of blown-glass, which forms a translucent weight to anchor the lamp. A line of light is projected from the profile of the object when the light source casts its glow upon the upper plane of etched glass, which in turn appears as a thin line of light emanating outward from the side. The lamps represent a collection of table projectors that cast a light of intimate character, the luminous line gently poised above the transparency of the glass body. FLUTES - variability and style The Flutes collection was created as a suspension lighting project for hotel spaces. Their artistic potential and utility value both go far beyond the boundaries of the project specifications. As the name suggests, the simple and elegant elongated conical shape resembles the form of a flute. The stylized openings not only allude to the source of inspiration for the design, they also fulfill a practical function - they allow for a greater degree of variation, as the angle at which the light hangs is dependent upon which opening the suspension cable is passed through. Flutes are available in several colors, including grey, opaline, and strong orange. The Flutes collection comprises three types of lamp depending on the angle of tilt.
