Enhancements: Adding Portland Cement, Stucco, or Gypsum Plaster can increase the fire-resistance classification by 1/2 hour. Filling all core spaces with loose dry expanded slag, burned clay or shale, or water-repellent vermiculite masonry fill insulation can add 2 hours to the classification.
