CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE 2018

Product catalog summary
Introduction
BOEN hardwood floors are designed with high-quality surfaces that are either sealed or oiled to protect against dust and dirt, while also being easy to maintain. Despite their durability, these floors require preventative measures and regular care due to natural wear and tear.
Room Climate and Underfloor Heating
Wood is hygroscopic, meaning it adapts to room temperature and humidity. The ideal conditions for hardwood floors are temperatures between 18°C to 28°C and humidity levels of 30% to 65%. Hardwood floors are compatible with underfloor heating, which provides a stable room climate and efficient heat transfer. However, surface temperatures should not exceed 29°C, or 27°C in Scandinavian countries.
General Maintenance Tips
1. Use doormats and remove shoes at entrances.
2. Apply felt gliders to furniture to prevent scratches.
3. Regularly vacuum and immediately wipe up moisture.
Live Natural
This treatment involves oils and waxes that penetrate deeply into the wood, offering high protection. Initial care requires applying BOEN Oil Freshen Up, with regular cleaning using BOEN Floor Soap and periodic maintenance with BOEN Oil Freshen Up.
Live Satin
A 6-layer silk finish that reduces care needs and enhances durability. Stubborn stains can be removed with household cleaners or white spirit, and regular maintenance involves using BOEN Refresher.
Live Matt
This finish provides a natural look with scratch resistance. Cleaning involves using BOEN Cleaner and BOEN Polish Matt for maintenance, with stubborn stains treated similarly to Live Satin.
Live Pure
Offers a natural wood appearance with high resistance to dust and liquids. Cleaning and maintenance follow similar procedures to Live Satin and Live Matt, using BOEN Cleaner and BOEN Polish Live Pure.
Commercial Property Considerations
In high-traffic areas, additional protection and frequent cleaning are necessary. Regular inspections and potential sanding and resealing are recommended to maintain surface integrity.
