Product Description and Design

The lighting fixture is designed by Omer Arbel (2005) and manufactured by Bocci Design and Manufacturing Inc. It features a unique glass construction where molten glass is poured into a hemispherical mold. As the glass cools, a meniscus shape forms on the open face. Two such hemispherical pieces are joined to create an articulated sphere with internal voids that provide distinctive optical qualities. A cylindrical void runs through both hemispheres to house the light source.
