FAST® Installation Manual

Product catalog summary
General Information: The FAST® systems, including MicroFAST®, NitriFAST®, and HighStrengthFAST®, are designed for wastewater treatment using naturally occurring bacteria. These systems are ETL certified for safety, with some models also NSF certified. The process involves a treatment module and blower to facilitate bacterial growth for waste digestion.
Location and Installation Guidelines: Installation should consider burial depth, slope for influent and effluent lines, and blower back pressure. Components include a blower, control panel, air line piping, and venting. Proper venting is crucial to prevent back pressure and allow condensation drainage.
System Components and Equipment: The manual lists necessary equipment for installation, such as blowers, air line gaskets, and control panels. Required tools and materials include PVC pipes, concrete bases, and electrical conduits.
Module Installation: Two options are available: using a plastic lid to hang the module or using leg extensions to stand it in the tank. Proper sealing and air line connections are essential for system integrity.
Blower and Control Panel Installation: The blower must be mounted on a solid base, with electrical work performed by a qualified electrician. The control panel requires a dedicated breaker and connections to the blower and master panel.
Final Inspection and Start-Up: Before backfilling, the tank should be filled to the operating level, checked for leaks, and blower operation verified. Proper venting and alarm function should be confirmed.
Safety Precautions: Emphasizes safety when handling wastewater and working near septic tanks due to infectious organisms and explosive gases.
Blower Diagrams: Blower diagrams are mentioned, advising to check the shipping box for correct blower information. Additional information for larger systems can be obtained from Bio-Microbics.
Limited Warranty: Bio-Microbics provides a warranty for new residential FAST® systems against defects for two years after installation or three years from shipment. For commercial systems, the warranty is one year after installation or eighteen months from shipment. The warranty covers repair or replacement of defective parts if installed, operated, and maintained according to instructions. The owner is responsible for labor costs and other expenses related to replacement and maintenance. The warranty excludes misuse, flooding damage, unauthorized disassembly, improper installation, and wiring issues. It applies only to the treatment plant, not to wiring, plumbing, drainage, septic tank, or disposal systems. Bio-Microbics reserves the right to modify system design without updating existing equipment. The warranty disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
