CT20

Product catalog summary
Product and Application Fields
CT20 is a pre-dosed cementitious screed packaged in polyethylene bags, containing silico-calcareous aggregates and Portland cement. It complies with European Standard EN 13813 and is suitable for indoor and outdoor screeds, including adherent, non-adherent (desolidarized), and floating types. It can be walked on after 24 hours and covered with moisture-sensitive materials after 8-10 days. CT20 meets the requirements of UNI 11371 and UNI 11493 standards and can be used for heating/cooling floors with radiant tubes.
Surface Preparation
  • Adhering Screeds: Apply CT20 in 2-3 cm thickness using adhesion promoters. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
  • Non-Adhering Screeds: Apply CT20 in 4-6 cm thickness with a vapour barrier or insulation layer. Use polyethylene sheets as a vapour barrier, ensuring proper overlap and sealing.
Product Preparation
Mix a bag of CT20 with 1 litre of clean water using a mechanical mixer until a semi-dry consistency is achieved. Mixing should not exceed 3 minutes. Manual mixing is possible if the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
Packaging and Consumption
CT20 is available in 25 kg polyethylene bags. Consumption is 18-19 kg/m² for a 10 mm thickness.
Warnings
  • Operating temperature: +5°C to +35°C.
  • Ensure residual moisture is ≤ 2% for wood and resilient materials.
  • Avoid excess water in the mixture to prevent reduced mechanical resistance and increased drying time.
  • Do not add other materials to CT20.
  • Use electro-galvanized mesh and contraction joints to prevent cracking.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place for up to 6 months.

CT20-1

PRE-DOSED READY TO USE AVERAGE DRYING CEMENTITIOUS SCREED PRODUCT AND FIELDS OF APPLICATION CT20 is used for the realization of indoor and outdoor screeds at adherent, non-adherent (desolidarized) and floating average drying. CT20 is a pre-dosed cementitius screed in polyethylene bags containing in separate sections silico-calcareous aggregates, Portland cement. The product complies with the European Standard EN 13813. CT20 is used for the realization of indoor and outdoor screeds at adherent, non-adherent (desolidarized) and floating average drying. CT20 can be walked upon after 24 hours after application, after 48 hours it can be covered with ceramic tiles, brick and natural stone for coatings that are sensitive to moisture such as wood, linoleum, carpet, the waiting time is 8-10 days. CT20 comes within the requirements of the Standard UNI 11371 “Screeds for parquet and wooden flooring” and the Standard UNI 11493 “Floor and wall ceramic tiling ceramic”. With CT20 it is possible to create heating/cooling floors by inserting “radiant tubes” radians internally. With CT20 it is possible to create heating/cooling floors by inserting “radiant tubes” radians internally. ADHERING SCREEDS CT20 in a thickness of 2-3 cm can be obtained in adherence to the substrate through the use of special adhesion promoters (water-based slurry, binder and latex rubber and epoxy resin). The substrate must be free of dust, loose material, oils and fats, release agents, seasoned and dry, the absence of moisture from the underlying layers and/or from the embankment. NON-ADHERING SCREEDS (DESOLIDARIZED) CT20 in a thickness of 4-6 cm can be obtained in a non-adherent (desolidarized) or floating manner by interposing in the first case a horizontal separator layer (vapour barrier) between the screed and the surface, in the second case a layer of thermal and/or acoustic insulation. The vapour barrier may be formed for example by a double layer of polyethylene sheets of 150 µm, overlapped for at least 100-150 mm and properly strapped on the connections. The polyethylene sheets must be pushed back also on all the vertical parts (walls, pillars, etc ...), exceeding the thickness of the screed itself. PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT A bag of CT20 is to be mixed with the addition of 1 litre of clean water by means of a mechanical mixer (cement mixer, cochlea kneader until obtaining a consistency of moist earth (semi-dry), the mixing time should not exceed 3 minutes. CT20 can be mixed by hand with the aid of a shovel as long as the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. CT20 is mixed and transported also with the main machines for the screeds available on the market.
