“ Cities tell me stories.” Bat eye ® has in its genesis a creative, Marco Sousa, who following his graduation and after years of dedication to architecture and passion for cities, felt the need to create furniture that caught in the elements of convergence between art and architecture, transcribing for furniture the forms, movements, gestures and colours that he kept with his eyes. Cities tell stories: we heard them and seize them; we interpret them and recreate that distinct and personal vision. The city conveys life in every corner, in every street that goes unnoticed, even in places where...

“I want to create pieces of the world for the entire world.” “As an architect, I felt the need to create furniture that caught in the elements of convergence between the art and the city. The shapes, movements, gestures and chromatics that I retain are transcribed into furniture as a tribute to the places. No one chooses the city where they born, but sometimes the city chooses us. It happened to me with Porto. My features became the streets features, the city’s light owns my colours and maybe I’ll draw to discover its mysteries. I have a lot to draw.

Each piece is made by the best artisans. Since prehistory, man has been producing objects, buildings, images. Each culture has its own relationship with the objects, which makes it difficult to separate art and design. From this premise, Bat  ® has been drawing and eye  sculpting pieces that can be seen as art and design pieces. This symbiosis can only work with the best artisans, a fact that can be perceived in the perfection and boldness of our collection. The noblest materials are present in each piece, carefully selected and worked down to the smallest detail. Exclusive for you. Each piece...

Provoke Stimulate Passionate. And what is the path that leads us there? First of all, the ability to create. To rip. To take risks. To understand that the latest technology only resists if it is blended with tradition. Furthermore, understand that the worthiest of the gestures is worthless if it is not crafted by the most competent artisans. From the noblest materials, excellence will emerge. From precise detail, uniqueness will arise. And from the passion that we put into everything we do, the perfect piece will emerge. With all this added value, we’re constantly feeling the risk of our pieces...

Porto, the hometown of Marco Sousa, is the starting point of this collection. Also, it’s a port of departure, from those who see the city for a long time and now have decided to review it in these pieces and give it the deserved honor. There, we see the Douro river that reflects us, there we see the D. Luiz I bridge linking the two banks, there are colors, gestures and the light of those who know their city by heart. The collection has the boldness and sympathy; the materials have the tradition and nobleness of the Porto’s people. So it is the character of Porto. So it is the Porto Collection....
