Fixit 222 - 1

Fixit 222Aerogel High Performance Insulating Plaster FIXIT Schweiz. Suisse. Svizzera. The Fixit Aerogel plaster is an environmentally-friendly, biologically compatible high performance insulating plaster for indoor and outdoor applications. Brickwork, sand-lime bricks, natural stonework, quarry stone walls as well as raw shuttered concrete are all suitable substrates. Strongly absorbent, or variably absorbent surfaces require the application of Fixit 211 or Fixit 281 CalceClima® throw-on preparatory mortar. The Aerogel high-performance insulating plaster can also be used as a renovation plaster with prior sealing against moisture. • Thin insulation layers with efficient U-value • Capillary active and water vapour permeable - prevents mildew, fungal and algae attack • Can be applied by machine, therefore economic • Can be used as different thermal insulating variants both indoor and outdoors • Surface visible with no marks • Accurate wall reproduction possible Application procedure: Composition: • Binding agents: hydraulic lime NHL 5, calcium hydroxide, white cement • Aggregates: Aerogel granules, light mineral aggregate • Additives: water retaining agent, air-entraining agent, hydrophobic agent Basics: The general rules of building construction must be observed, in addition to the current notes published by the «Swiss Association of Painters and Plasterers SMGV», the recommendations SIA 242 «Rendering and Plastering» and the information in this technical data sheet. In particular, attention is drawn to the following two Information Sheets: «Plastering, Insulating, Filling and Surfacing at High and Low Temperatures» (SAPP) and «Using Lime Plasters in the Preservation of Historical Buildings» (by the International Association for Science and Technology of Building Maintenance and the Preservation of Monuments). Application procedure: Fixit 222 Aerogel should be applied to the previously prepared base surface with a machine specially equipped for use with insulating plaster. Long interruptions in the work should be avoided. If the required thickness demands an application of more than one layer, then the surface of each layer should be well roughened before it hardens. Fixit 222 Aerogel High Performance Insulating Plaster Post-application treatment: After lime-based plasterwork is applied indoors, rooms must be adequately ventilated. Industrial dehumidifiers are not suitable for this purpose as they may cause cracking of the incompletely set insulating plaster layer. During extreme conditions such as high temperatures, or when surfaces are directly exposed to sunshine or wind, measures should be taken to protect the newly applied insulating plaster (e.g. pre-wetting the substrate, providing shade, keeping the surfaces moist, and protecting them from air...
