“Dopo 25 anni nei quali abbiamo presentato prodotti che utilizzano materiali e processi artigianali, ho sentito I’esigenza diproporre un prodotto “stampato”, una sedia con struttura in fusione, frutto di un significativo investimento industriale per ilmarchio. Nello stesso tempo volevo che il “disegno” diquesto nuovo prodotto fosse parte della collezione Maxalto. E’ una sedia che lavora con tutta la collezione Maxalto, con i nuovi tavoli ma anche con iprodotti esistenti. Un prodotto assolutamente contemporaneo, ma che richiama la memoria di alcuni oggetti del novecento, in grado di richiamare l’idea del bronzo, tramite una finitura opaca “piena”, che assorbe la luce, e la grande qualitd del rivestimento in pelle dell’imbottitura, che rimanda all’idea della “selleria”. / Caratos e la nuova sedia che si distingue per I'eleganza della Antonio Citterio struttura, basica e geometrica, estremamente calibrata negli spessori e nei dettagli, realizzata in pressofusione di alluminio verniciata grafite o ambra. Una sedia decisamente leggera, non solo per il suo design essenziale e lineare, quanto per il peso ridotto che ne assicura una facile maneggevolezza. La seduta e lo schienale utilizzano pannelli strutturali in materiale plastico su cui poggia uno strato in poliuretano, poi rivestito in pelle. / Caratos is the new chair distinguished by the elegance of its basic, geometric structure, with closely calibrated thickness and detailed, made of graphite or amber painted die-cast aluminium. This chair is definitely light, not just because of its essential and linear design, but also for its low weight and easy handling. The seat and back use structural panels of plastic material placed on a polyurethane layer, then covered with leather. “After 25 years of presenting products that use artisanal materials and processes, I felt the need to offer a “moulded” product, a chair with a fusion structure, thanks to a significant industrial investment by the company. At the same time, I wanted the “design” of this new product to be part of the Maxalto collection. This chair can be used with the entire Maxalto collection, with the new tables, and also with the existing products. This product is absolutely contemporary, but recalls the memory of some twentieth century objects, echoing the idea of bronze, through a “full” opaque finishing that absorbs light, and the great quality of the leather upholstery, giving it a “saddlery” look”.
