Crafted from 29 layers of paper bonded with natural resin, the shell retains throughout its lifecycle the CO2 captured by trees, significantly reducing its environmental footprint. The kraft paper is impregnated with a 100% biogenic hemicellulose-based binder from agro-waste streams or pulp and paper production. The impregnated substrates are stacked, pressed and cut into the shell of Catifa Carta. At the end of its life, the shell of Catifa Carta can undergo pyrolysis, a burning process that happens at low temperature and in absence of oxygen avoiding the release of CO2 into the atmosphere....
