Before Installation ✓ HVAC The area to receive the resilient flooring should be maintained at a minimum of 65° F (18° C) and a maximum of 100° F (38° C). Installation conditions that are outside our recommendations or uncontrolled will result in a noticeable curl or dome. ✓ Acclimation ✓ Subfloor Testing ✓ Bond Test ✓ Subfloor Preparation Resilient flooring should only be installed in temperature-controlled environments. It is necessary to maintain a constant temperature before, during and after the installation. The product, adhesives, and subfloor must acclimate for 48 hours. Before installation of the finished flooring, moisture and alkali testing must be conducted. The surface of the concrete must have a pH of 9 or less. Bond tests must also be conducted for compatibility with the substrate. Skipping this step may result in subpar adhesion of the product to the subfloor. The surface should be free of dust, solvents, varnish, paint, wax, oil, grease, sealers, curing compounds, residual adhesive, adhesive removers, and other foreign materials. The high gloss surface of the product will make subfloor imperfections more noticeable.
