Product catalog summary
Overview of Indaten® Weathering Steel
Indaten® is a weathering steel that evolves with its environment, offering a natural protection against corrosion without the need for painting or chemicals. It is eco-friendly, 100% recyclable, and has a high longevity of up to 80 years. The steel develops a protective patina over time, enhancing its appearance and durability.

Specifications and Applications
Indaten® belongs to the same group of steel alloys as Cor-Ten steel and meets ASTM international standards. It is used in various architectural projects, including buildings, bridges, and sculptures. The steel can be formed into flat cassettes or curved panels for facades, structures, and interior applications. It is easily formable and can be perforated or embossed.

Aesthetic Development
The patina of Indaten® develops over time, influenced by environmental factors such as temperature and moisture. The initial red-orange color transforms into a dark, purplish-brown over one to two years. Sandblasting can accelerate this process.

Performance and Maintenance
Indaten® requires no maintenance for up to 80 years when properly installed. It is compatible with common welding processes, but specific fasteners are recommended to avoid contact with incompatible metals like aluminum or stainless steel.

Technical Data
Indaten® 355A is available in thicknesses from 2.0 to 5.0 mm and a maximum coil width of 1880 mm. It complies with EN 10025-5:2005 standards and has excellent fire performance ratings.

Design Considerations
To maintain its aesthetics and performance, avoid using Indaten® in environments with permanent humidity, extreme industrial atmospheres, corrosive fumes, or marine environments. Proper water runoff management is essential to prevent staining.
