CE Marking to the CPR: What does it all mean?

What do we mean by CE Marking? CE marking is a method of identifying those products that comply with a harmonised European Standard or have a European Technical Approval. With effect from 1st July 2013, under the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR), virtually all construction products must carry the CE mark before they can legally be sold in Europe. How does CE Marking work? CE marking is not new – it is already compulsory for a wide range of everyday products – for instance, toys, machinery and electrical items. Under the Construction Products Regulation, it will become mandatory to apply the mark to all construction products covered by harmonised European Standards, with effect from 1st July 2013.
