Product catalog summary
Product Description: The S2200 is a single-component acetic cure silicone sealant that vulcanizes upon exposure to moisture at room temperature, forming a flexible elastomeric sealant. It is suitable for construction and glazing applications, offering excellent adhesion to nonporous substrates like glass, glazed ceramic tiles, and aluminum. It is resistant to ozone, UV radiation, and temperature extremes.
Key Performance Properties: The sealant is easy to use, cures at room temperature, and adheres well to various nonporous substrates. It can be applied at all temperatures and has a service temperature range from -20°C to 110°C. It is resistant to weathering, moisture, ozone, UV, and temperature extremes.
Applications: S2200 is used for general-purpose sealing and bonding, gap filling, and sealing gaps between door and window frames. It is suitable for use on aluminum, steel, painted metal, and plastics.
Typical Properties: The sealant is acetic, available in clear, white, and black colors, with a specific gravity of 0.93. It has a skin-over time of 10 minutes and a tack-free time of approximately 30 minutes. The cure rate is 4 mm/day, with an elastic recovery of over 90%. Mechanical properties include a tensile strength of 1.00 MPa and elongation at break of approximately 500%.
Usage Instructions: S2200 is ready to use with normal caulking guns. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. The sealant should be applied continuously into gaps, with tooling completed within 5 minutes of application. It cures from the surface inward, with skin formation within 10 minutes.
Caution: Uncured sealant can irritate eyes and skin. Adequate ventilation is necessary, and contact with eyes or skin should be avoided. In case of contact, flush with water and seek medical attention if necessary. The sealant releases acetic acid during curing.
Storage and Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The shelf life is 11 months from the manufacturing date if stored properly. High heat and humidity can reduce shelf life by 30%.
Cure Time: Curing is affected by humidity, temperature, and sealant thickness. The product cures at 3 mm per day at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Confined spaces may extend curing time.
Packaging: Available in standard caulking cartridges, with other sizes available upon request.
Non-Warranty: The user is responsible for determining the product's suitability for specific applications. No warranties are provided for fitness or suitability, and the supplier is not liable for incidental or consequential damages.

Surface must be clean, dry and should be free from oil, grease, dust and frost. After suitable joint preparation and masking, attach the nozzle to cartridge, cut to required dimension and the sealant is gunned into gap continuously. The non sag paste consistency of the material makes it very friendly to use, easy to tool with spatula. The product cures at room temperature when it is exposed to moisture and the curing happens from surface to inside the sealant. The skin formation happens within a maximum period of 10 minutes. Any necessary tooling has to be completed within 5 minutes of applicati

Product Data Sheet in case masking tape is used to mark off the area, it has to be removed before sk in is formed. Install backing material or joint filler, setting blocks, spacer shims and tapes. Mask areas adjacent to joints to ensure neat sealant lines. Primer is generally not required on non-porous surfaces, but may be necessary for optimal sealing of certain porous surfaces. A test placement is always recommended. Apply 2200 Silicone Sealant in a continuous operation using positive pressure.
