ASMACO GP SILICONE SEALANT

ASMACO GP SILICONE SEALANT

Product catalog summary
Product Description: ASMACO GP is a high-quality, single-component acetic cure silicone sealant that vulcanizes upon exposure to moisture at room temperature, forming a flexible elastomeric sealant. It is suitable for construction and glazing applications, offering excellent adhesion to nonporous substrates like glass, ceramic tiles, and aluminum. It is resistant to ozone, UV radiation, and temperature extremes.
Key Performance Properties: The sealant is easy to use, fast-curing, permanently elastic, and provides very good unprimed adhesion. It is antifungal, making it suitable for sanitary applications, and cures at ambient humidity conditions. It adheres well to glass, ceramics, aluminum, masonry, and some plastics, and is resistant to weathering and temperature extremes.
Applications: ASMACO GP is used for nonstructural glazing, structural attachment of panel systems, sanitary applications, and panel stiffener applications. It is suitable for use with materials like aluminum, steel, painted metal, EIFS, granite, stone, concrete, brick, and plastics.
Typical Properties: The sealant is acetic, available in various colors, with a specific gravity of 0.96. It has a skin-over time of 10 minutes and a tack-free time of 30 minutes at room temperature. The application temperature ranges from 5 to 40°C, with a cure rate of 2-3 mm per day. It has a hardness of 17 Shore A, elastic recovery of over 90%, tensile strength of 1 MPa, and elongation at break of 600%.
Caution: Direct contact with uncured sealant can irritate eyes and skin. Adequate ventilation is necessary to avoid vapor exposure. In case of contact, flush with water and seek medical attention if necessary. The sealant releases acetic acid during curing.
Storage and Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from sunlight and heat sources. The shelf life is 12 months if stored properly. High heat and humidity can reduce shelf life by 30%. Follow First In First Out (FIFO) for storage.
Packaging and Coverage: Available in standard caulking cartridges, with other sizes available upon request. Coverage varies with joint dimensions, with approximate coverage provided for different joint widths and thicknesses.
Usage Instructions: ASMACO GP is ready to use with caulking guns. Surfaces must be clean and dry. Apply the sealant continuously, tool within 5 minutes, and remove masking tape before skin formation. Primer may be needed for porous surfaces.
Note: The product data is believed to be accurate, but users must determine suitability for their applications. No warranties are provided for fitness or suitability, and liability is limited to product replacement.
