How It Works Step 1: When the Grab Bar comes in contact with moisture, silver ions are released to the surface. Step 2: Silver ions penetrate the cell membrane of microbes present on the surface. Step 3: Silver ions react with the chemistry of the organism rendering it inactive. Why It Lasts Silver ions are impregnated into the powder coating and hence remain in the coating. Antimicrobial properties remain constant even after being subjected to wear and exterior exposure, giving these grab bars an excellent effective lifetime.
