Specifications:
The XHB Lid Unit 600 is designed to accommodate expansion joints positioned as required by the designer, with a minimum distance of 500mm from the edge of the Althon lid. It utilizes 10-15mm Althon high-strength bedding mortar and requires a haunch with a minimum of 125mm and a maximum of 250mm from the top level of the channel. A geotextile membrane is used depending on ground conditions.

Materials and Construction:
The unit includes a grate made of ST4 concrete with a minimum slump of 50mm, which is well compacted around the channel. It also features a semi-dry bed of grade ST4 concrete and pavement quality concrete reinforced according to the designer's specifications.

Design Features:
The precast lid unit has slots flared to minimize blockage and can include rodding eyes for easy maintenance. The lids are dished to improve the catchment of surface water runoff.

Load Capacity:
The XHB lid unit is designed to withstand loads of up to 50 tonnes, suitable for abnormal forklift loads in rail freight depots and container terminals.
