Specifications:
The XHB Lid Unit 375 is designed to accommodate expansion joints positioned at a minimum of 500mm from the edge of the Althon lid. It requires 10-15mm of Althon high-strength bedding mortar and a haunch ranging from 125mm to 250mm from the top level of the channel. A geotextile membrane may be used depending on ground conditions.

Materials and Construction:
The unit utilizes ST4 concrete with a minimum slump of 50mm, which should be well compacted around the channel. The concrete bed is semi-dry and reinforced according to the designer's specifications. The precast lid unit features flared slots to minimize blockage and can include rodding eyes for easy maintenance. The lids are dished to enhance the catchment of surface water runoff.

Performance and Capacity:
The XHB lid unit is engineered to withstand loads up to 50 tonnes, making it suitable for abnormal forklift loads in rail freight depots and container terminals.
