Placement Recommendations for Tumbled Marble
Before installation, it is advised to thoroughly mix all marble pieces to achieve better color variation. The preferred method for installation is using adhesive cement (cemento cola). The surface must be very flat to ensure proper adhesion. The thickness of the adhesive should be sufficient to securely hold the pieces, whether for flooring or wall cladding.
For joint filling, a mortar composed of 3 parts fine silica sand and 1 part gray Portland cement is recommended, mixed frequently to maintain consistency. Alternatively, prefabricated joints can be used, but a test should be conducted beforehand to verify the color and finish suitability.
Cleaning Recommendations After Installation
After installation, allow sufficient drying time for the entire floor or cladding. Remove any deposits or construction dirt. The recommended cleaning product is DETERDEK, which contains multiple surfactants for effective cleaning and descaling.
- Mix 1 part DETERDEK with 5 parts water.
- Apply the solution evenly over the surface and let it act for a few minutes.
- Scrub with a brush or scouring pad.
- Rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry completely.
The consumption rate is approximately 3 liters of DETERDEK per 100 m² of flooring.
Treatment Recommendations for Tumbled Marble
Once the surface is clean and dry, apply a protective treatment to safeguard against stains:
- Apply a first coat of FILA WET, a stain protector with a wet effect that guards against organic stains such as beverages, food, and grease. Use a large brush to apply evenly and generously, including the joints, avoiding puddles.
- After 24 hours, apply a second coat following the same procedure.
The recommended consumption is 10 liters of FILA WET per 100 m². This product should be applied undiluted. Avoid walking on the surface during the 24-hour drying period.

RECOMENDACIONES DE LIMPIEZA DESPUES DE LA COLOCACION DEL TUMBLED MÁRMOL Después de la colocación, tendrá que dejar transcurrir el tiempo necesario para que este todo el pavimento o revestimiento seco, eliminar las incrustaciones producidas por la colocación y la suciedad de obra. Alteret Cerámicas recomienda limpiar con DETERDEK que limpia y desincrusta, ya que tiene un gran número de tensioactivos. Hay que mezclar 1 parte de DETERDEK con 5 partes de agua. RECOMENDACIONES PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DEL TUMBLED MÁRMOL Una vez limpio y seco todo el pavimento o revestimiento de Tumbled Mármol hay realizar el tratamiento, para ello se tendrán que seguir los siguientes pasos. 1º Aplicar una mano de FILA WET que es un protector antimancha efecto mojado, que protege el mármol contra todo tipo de manchas orgánicas (bebidas, comidas, grasas, etc). Aplicar con una brocha grande de manera uniforme, generosa y continua, sin dejar charcos e impregnando también las juntas. 2º Al cabo de 24 horas, aplicar una segunda mano siguiendo el mismo procedimiento.
