Product catalog summary
Integrated Reflector Program (IRP)

Overview:
The IRP by Almeco focuses on the development of aluminum reflectors for street, industrial, and urban lighting. It combines Almeco's extensive experience in anodized aluminum reflectors with advanced design and simulation capabilities to meet customer needs from concept to production.

Key Features:
  • Virtual CAD models and photometric simulations are used to explore different surface finishes.
  • Prototypes are produced with the same properties as final products, allowing for comprehensive testing before final tooling.
  • Benefits include confidence in results, rapid prototyping, reduced design risks, and optimized investment.
  • Intellectual and design property is protected, ensuring confidentiality.

Simulation and Prototyping:
Using OptisWorks software and data libraries, Almeco can simulate and analyze photometric behavior with high reliability. Prototypes are produced quickly, and customers receive four standard finishes: Superbrite, Brite, Softlite, and Matt-lite.

Almeco LED Program (ALP)

Overview:
The ALP addresses the demand for energy-efficient LED lighting. It extends Almeco's expertise to include LED sources, recommending materials with over 98% reflectance from the VEGA product range for maximum efficiency.

Key Features:
  • Reflector lenses for street lighting and urban beautification with optimized light distribution and reduced glare.
  • Vega LED98 material offers high reflectance (>98%) and efficiency, uniformly reflecting visible light from LEDs.

Production Process:

Tooling and Anodizing:
Almeco manufactures exclusive reflector tooling for customers. The process involves CAD model generation, deep-drawing, spinning, and blanking. Reflectors undergo brightening and anodizing for enhanced brightness and corrosion resistance.

Manufacturing Techniques:
  • Deep-drawing uses hydraulic presses for shaping metal.
  • Spinning forms symmetrical shapes on lathes.
  • Blanking technology uses PVD coated and anodized aluminum for assembled components.

The ALP program - Led application-3

Led application Almeco’s ALP development has arisen from the increasing demand in the market for energy efficient lighting using LED technology. ALP expands Almeco’s existing competence in the study and development of reflectors for traditional light sources such as sodium metal halide and halogen lamps, making available to clients the whole process of creating reflectors, including LED sources. To obtain the maximum advantage from LED lamps we recommend combining their inherent efficiency with a reflector material having over 98% reflectance from our VEGA product range. Almeco Production Tooling Department Almeco manufactures its own reflector tooling exclusive property of the customer. Starting with the reflector design or with an optical model, a CAD model of the reflector tool is generated by the Technical Office and sent to the toolmaking department, where the deepdrawing and cutting punches and dies and the spinning mandrels or “forms” for the reflectors, are produced. Deep drawing Deep-drawing is a cold forming process which uses a powerful hydraulic press to bring together male and female press tools which deform the metal into the desired hollow shape...
