Product catalog summary
Warranty Information
The QuietAir fan warranty is valid in the UK for two years, extendable to three years with registration on the Airflow website. It covers the product only, excluding installation costs, and is contingent on proper installation, use, and no unauthorized modifications.
General Information
This document provides safety and operational instructions for the QuietAir 100mm Axial Fan, model QT 100HT. It stresses adherence to safety regulations and proper installation for optimal performance and safety. The fan is intended for air extraction in living spaces and must comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Installation Instructions
Installation requires site preparation, correct cable exit, drilling, and securing the fan to the wall or ceiling. It should be installed after other work is completed to prevent damage. Detailed steps for cable connections are provided, emphasizing the need for a certified electrician.
Electrical Connection
Electrical connections must be isolated from the power supply and performed by a certified electrician according to the wiring diagram. The fan is IPX5 rated and complies with safety class II standards.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for longevity and performance. The fascia can be dismantled for cleaning.
Fault Diagnostics
A troubleshooting section addresses common operational issues.
Environmental Considerations
Dispose of the product responsibly following local recycling guidelines for electrical equipment.
Installation and Operation Instructions
1. Installation Guidelines
Ensure pre-cut drillings are punched through when installing in the ceiling to prevent condensate formation. The guide vane with a back draught shutter can be mounted or omitted as needed. Ensure vertical affixation of rubber foam and a 7 mm clearance for the fascia.
2. Electrical Connection
All electrical work must be isolated from the power supply and performed by a certified electrician. The fan should not be used with transformer controllers. Follow all safety regulations and national standards. The electronic control board includes automatic humidity control and a timer in a splash-proof casing. Additional suppression shielding may be needed for electromagnetic compatibility.
3. Cleaning and Maintenance
Isolate the fan from the power supply before cleaning. Use a damp cloth only. The fan is maintenance-free. To dismantle the fascia, isolate the device, remove the fascia with a screwdriver, and unfasten the control board cover screws.
4. Troubleshooting
Common issues include thermal protection trips due to dirt or high winding temperature, abnormal noises from worn bearings, vibrations from an unbalanced impeller, and performance reduction due to high resistance in the ventilation system.
5. Wiring and Functionality
The fan requires a permanent supply voltage of 230v/1Ph/50-60 Hz connected to terminals N and L. Terminal 1 provides a 2-minute delay start, 15-minute timer overrun, and humidity sensor activation. Terminal 2 allows operation at a second speed via a second switch. Both terminals can be used for combined functionality. The fan enters test mode for 1 minute upon initial start-up, and the humidity sensor requires about 1 hour to calibrate.
6. Additional Functionality
The humidity sensor can be temporarily deactivated for 1 hour with a short switch pulse. Terminal speeds can be adjusted between 75m³ and 90m³. DIP switch settings can be changed to modify functionality, such as disabling the time delay or adjusting humidity levels. Always isolate the unit from the mains before making changes.
7. Important Notes
When connecting the fan to the light switch, use a double-pole switch. Wiring in series of more than one fan is not permitted.
