EXPANSION JOINTS

Product catalog summary
Introduction
AGOM International SRL specializes in the design and manufacture of bridge bearings, expansion joints, anti-seismic devices, and shock absorbers. With over 40 years of experience, their products comply with European and international standards, ensuring quality and durability through skilled engineering, quality materials, and strict quality control processes.
Bridge Deck Movements
Bridge superstructures experience horizontal movements due to temperature changes, concrete shrinkage, creep effects, elastic shortening, and external loads like earthquakes and wind. These factors necessitate the use of specialized expansion joints and bearings to accommodate such movements.
AGWJ-Series Expansion Joints
Designed for displacements up to 70mm, AGWJ joints are waterproof, easy to assemble, corrosion-resistant, low-noise, and have a long service life. They are suitable for replacing existing joints and are made with anti-abrasive rubber and steel reinforcements.
AGFLEXJ-Series Expansion Joints
These joints accommodate movements up to 330mm and share similar advantages with the AGWJ series, including waterproofing, ease of assembly, corrosion resistance, low noise, and durability. They are also interchangeable with existing joints.
AGFJ-Series Expansion Joints
Finger-type joints designed for movements up to 250mm, featuring corrosion resistance, low noise, and long service life due to their lack of moving parts and durable rubber covering.
Installation Instructions
Installation involves cutting and cleaning the slab, installing drainage pipes, laying rubber flashing, placing expansion joints, and securing with chemical anchor bolts. Detailed instructions are available from AGOM.
Product Range
AGOM offers a wide range of products including various types of bridge bearings, seismic isolators, and expansion joints, along with services such as design, consulting, on-site assistance, installations, tests, and inspections.

EXPANSION JOINTS-2

Building and engineering Bridges are subjected to movements and rotation caused by traffic, temperature changes, earthquakes, shrinkage, prestressing, creep, etc. Bridge construction requires carefully designed and manufactured bearings, antiseismic devices, shock absorbers and expansion joints to ensure that such forces are properly dealt with throughout the life of the structure. Agom has over 40 years experience in the design and manufacture of bridge bearings, bridge expansion joints, anti-seismic devices and shock absorbers for the bridge-building and construction industry. All products...

Bridge Deck Movements The Temperature expansion and contraction Shortening of concrete due to creep effect Elastic shortening Movements due to induced external loads (e.g. earthquake, wind, vehicular braking etc.) Temperature Temperature variations cause both expansion and shortening of the bridge deck and are usually computed as a plus and minus range about a mean structure temperature which occurs when the superstructure is placed on the bearings. Temperature differentials also occur in the deck from top to bottom and from one side to other side of the deck. Temperature differentials through...

Bridge EXPANSION JOINTS AGWJ-series expansion joints AGOM’s AGWJ expansion joints are designed to enable displacements of up to 70mm with respect to the bridge decks they are fastened to. Entirely waterproof, they are secured to the structure with suitable anchor bolts. The deformable rubber elements are vulcanised with two rolled steel reinforcements with a U cross-section (standard EN 10025). AGWJ joints also allow displacement of the structure’s parts relative to each other in any direction. Advantages AGWJ-series expansion joints: WATERPROOF: AGWJ joints are entirely waterproof. EASE OF ASSEMBLY:...
